God Answers Prayers – A Testimony of Divine Intervention
This morning, I attended the morning service with a heavy heart. Two pressing concerns troubled my spirit, weighing me down, yet I stood in faith and declared my day. I reminded myself that God is a prayer-answering God, the One who hears even the silent cries of our hearts. What I did not expect was how swiftly He would move to answer my prayers—one after another.
One of the burdens I carried was regarding the teenagers’ ministry. During a recent general teachers’ meeting, I had suggested that we invite Mama Pastor to join the Teens Church as a teacher. At the time, it had seemed like a good idea, but later, doubt began to creep into my heart. Had I spoken out of turn? Had I overstepped my role? I felt uneasy, questioning whether it was my place to make such a suggestion.
But our God is not the author of confusion! At exactly 2:00 PM, God sent His answer in the most unexpected way. Teacher Delight called me, and with words of wisdom and encouragement, she told me that we needed to visit Mama Pastor to officially invite her to be part of the teens’ ministry. At that moment, I knew without a doubt that this was not just my idea—it was God’s divine direction. The weight of doubt lifted from my heart, and I saw clearly that God had gone ahead of me and prepared the way. What I had thought was me speaking out of turn was actually God using me as a vessel to align His will for the teens’ ministry.
As I was still marveling at how God had answered my first concern, another breakthrough came at the same time. Around 2:00 PM, I received a call from Andrew regarding my car, which had been involved in an accident. The situation had been unsettling because the party responsible for the accident had not been held accountable. Worse still, the matatu that caused the accident had been released without any agreement for compensation. I felt helpless, not knowing how justice would be served.
But God fights for His children! Andrew informed me that they would repair my car, which was already a great relief. Then, shortly after, Brian, a nation reporter, took up the matter and assured me that the matatu responsible for the accident would not go unpunished. He went on to tell me that he had direct connections to the base commander—the very person who had allowed the matatu to go free without a proper resolution. With his intervention, justice would be served, and the person responsible for hitting my car would be held accountable.
In just a short span of time, God had moved in both situations that had weighed heavily on my heart. He showed me once again that He is the God who sees, the God who fights for us, and the God who makes a way where there seems to be none.
Just when I thought my day could not get any better, another unexpected blessing came my way. A student walked into my office seeking a lesson. As we talked, he revealed something that caught me by surprise—his father had been deeply impressed by the way I had taught him. Apparently, my teaching had left such a strong impact that his father had spoken highly of me. This young man, inspired by what I had done for him, told me that he wanted to help me strategize my business.
He observed that I was surrounded by schools and saw an opportunity that I had not fully tapped into. With conviction and excitement, he told me that I should start selling school supplies—books, pens, pencils, and rubbers—since students and parents would always need them. But that was not all; he encouraged me to create advertisement materials to market the business effectively. His insight was simple yet profound. It was as though God had sent him to remind me of an opportunity I had overlooked.
This was yet another moment where I saw God’s hand at work. He was not only answering my prayers but also positioning me for financial increase. The very same day that He was resolving my spiritual and personal concerns, He was also opening doors for business expansion.
But my testimonies did not stop there. I also had a growing concern about one of my staff members. I had a strong suspicion that he was trying to take advantage of me, possibly by manipulating or deceiving me in some way. The Holy Spirit placed a check in my heart, warning me to be cautious. Then, something happened that confirmed my fears.
One day, he went out and bought medicine for me, but I felt uneasy about taking it. Deep down, I knew that something was not right. I had also had a dream that warned me not to trust him. The Bible says in Job 33:14-15, “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed.” God was speaking, and I chose to listen. I prayed about the matter and decided not to take the medicine he had brought.
Then, three days later, something unusual happened. The same staff member who had been acting suspiciously fell sick. He was in so much pain that he could barely function. It was then that I knew that God had intervened. I stood my ground and declared, “I will not be deceived by my enemies! Whatever they have planned for me, they will fall into their own trap in Jesus’ name.”
Even in that moment, however, I did not wish harm upon him. Instead, I prayed for him. I asked God to heal him and, most importantly, to turn his heart toward His love. Whatever his intentions had been, I prayed that he would have an encounter with God that would transform his life. I chose to walk in love, not fear.
As I sat back and reflected on everything that had happened from morning to afternoon, I was in awe of how God had orchestrated my day. I had walked into the service troubled, unsure of how my concerns would be handled. Yet, by 2:00 PM, God had resolved my doubts about the teens’ ministry, taken control of my car accident situation, provided divine insight for my business, and revealed the truth about my staff member, protecting me from potential harm.
Truly, I serve a prayer-answering God! He is never late, never too busy, and never distant. He hears our silent cries and moves on our behalf in ways we cannot comprehend.
This day has reminded me that no matter what burdens we carry, we must take them to the Lord in prayer. Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” That is exactly what He did for me. When we commit our ways to Him, He directs our steps and fights our battles.
Hallelujah! I give all the glory to God! He is faithful, and His mercies endure forever.
