When you obey the Holy Spirit

I was recently widowed, and paying school fees had become a real struggle with a huge balance hanging over my head. In desperation, I reached out to some friends—both mine and my late husband’s—for help. I specifically asked them to send the money directly to the school, but Pato (our reliable anchor) sent the money to me instead.

Now, I’ll be honest, my first thought was to divide that money up. After all, I still had rent, food, and other bills staring me down. But right at that moment, I was reading about Ananias and Sapphira, (based on a the SGS group I had joined a Bible reading group), and I felt deeply convicted. I heard the Lord speak, saying, “If your friends won’t trust you with this little, how will they trust you with more? And how will God trust you with true riches?”

With that, I made the decision to obey. I paid the full amount to the school, leaving the rest in God’s hands.

The very next day, God showed up in a way that left me in tears. Dr. Christine sent money for food. Sis Aggie covered more of the school fees directly to the school. And Lillian paid for a service I had provided—an amount that was exactly what I needed for my rent. To be of good rememberance the car’s number plate: KDK 966F!

I was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. To God be all the glory!
