Half Hot, Half Cold — Fully Alive by the Word!
I recently interviewed someone who shared a powerful testimony about the miraculous intervention of God in their life. It all began when they learned that something that could have taken their life was instead defeated by the word of God. This individual had been experiencing a strange condition: half of their body felt hot, while the other half felt cold. At first, they were told not to worry, especially when it came to children, but when the same symptom appeared in an adult, it could be life-threatening.
As this person faced what seemed like an impending death, they clung to the only source of hope: God. With unwavering faith, they cried out, “I shall live to declare Your goodness, Lord!” It was a declaration of trust, even in the face of uncertainty. As they recount this moment, it’s clear that the only reason they are here today is by the grace of God. Only God could have turned the situation around and spared them.
And here they are, living testimony in hand, ready to declare the goodness of the Lord. Their story echoes Psalm 118:17, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” It is in those moments of desperation, when all hope seems lost, that God’s word becomes the most powerful weapon we have. Through His word, the enemy is defeated, and life is restored.
They laugh now, reflecting on how the situation once seemed so dire, but the truth is, God had already spoken life over them. It’s a reminder that, no matter how impossible it looks, the word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). And it’s a testimony to anyone who doubts that God still moves in miraculous ways today!
